Gio's Surgery day

Thursday was a huge day for Gio. Starting at 8:00 a.m. we had the casts taken off. We met with our orthopedic surgeon and decided we would proceed with the Tenotomy on both feet. This is where they cut the Achilles tendon in order to stretch it out longer, which will allow his foot to sit level when he stands. They applied a little numbing lotion to each Achilles, then moved us into the casting room again where they would do the procedure. A little shot in each foot to numb the area inside, then a rather quick and simple cut with a small scalpel and wrapped him up. He will have casts for 3 more weeks and then get fit for his leg braces. He did so good today, very proud of him.

Immunization Day

Today the kids had their first round of immunization shots. We are also reminded that even though they have been out for 9 weeks, they are 3 weeks old in some ways. This is because they were born at 34 weeks instead of full term at 40 weeks. But when we look at their weights and height they are in line for being 3 weeks old. Crazy how it all works.

Sofia

I have the late night shift with the kids. Sometimes they are more photogenic than other times. Sofia was working it on Tuesday.

Casting week 6

Going into the last week of casts leading up the surgery that should happen next week when we meet with the main doc. Dr. Sundberg. These casts are getting pretty routine, and all is looking good. Hopefully Gio's foot modeling career is still intact.

Everyone's on my team

My team at work meets my team at home. Jason, Alicia and Courtney came home with me after work and spent some quality time with the kids. We must have surprised the kids because my team got a little dose of the real atmosphere; screaming, aggressive eating, and steamy lower units. Perhaps they did it so I will get more pity from people at work. Those clever little buggers.
